Dads’ Snooker Socials

Who are you?

• John and Chris – local dads and team captains at Kickabout CIC (a football group for dads at Standish Leisure Centre)

• Regularly attend and support dads' wellbeing through sport

• Noticed a gap in opportunities for dads to socialise and connect outside of sports

What’s your idea?

I have seen this today if it's of any use for our community groups looking to develop gardens/allotments:

The 2025 Community Garden Grants scheme is open for applications from Monday 9th September until noon on 28th October 2024. Eligible community garden projects from England, Wales and Northern Ireland are welcome to apply for grants of between £1,000 and £5,000. All applications will be assessed on their merits and the successful groups will be notified in March 2025.

We would like to pitch for a community lock up for gardening tools and equipment that can be accessed by the older community.

CA bought two transit wheelchairs two years ago - part of our 'age friendly neighbourhood status.

Our idea.

To provide wheelchairs for short-term loan to people in our community; e.g. for a visiting relative; for a particular outing or appointment; for a short term mobility issue.

Our experience.

Local church agreed to store.

Existing local newsletter promoted.
