Invitation to Successful February Pitchers: Share Your Progress and Pitch Again!
We hope this message finds you well and your projects are progressing nicely since our last GRoW event in February. As we gear up for another round of pitching excitement, we'd love to hear about your progress and see how your projects have blossomed since receiving funding.
We invite you to join us for a special feedback session before the next round of pitching on Sunday 19th May. This will be an opportunity for you to showcase the developments of your projects, share insights on how you've utilised the funding, and provide valuable feedback to the community.
Feel free to bring along any materials, prototypes, or visuals to showcase your project's journey. Whether it's photos, samples, or success stories, we want to see and celebrate your achievements!
Additionally, we'd like to extend an invitation for you to pitch again with a new idea if you're feeling inspired. Your creativity and dedication have already made a significant impact, and we're excited to see what new ventures you have in store.
Join us for an afternoon filled with inspiration, collaboration, and meaningful conversations. Let's continue to nurture the spirit of innovation and community at GRoW.
Please RSVP by Sunday 12th May to confirm your attendance and let us know if you'll be showcasing your project. If you’re unable to attend, please submit a short report of how you’ve used your funding and the impact it’s had on moving your project forward.grassrootsofwigan@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you and hearing all about your progress!
Warm regards,
Angela, Gill, Vicky and Clare

Guidelines for Pitching at GRoW
Each pitcher has 5 minutes to make their presentation.
The pitch needs to cover:
- Who you are
- Your idea
- Why the idea is important
- How you know its wanted and needed. Who will take part. How you know they will.
- How much will it cost in total and how much you would like from GRoW (max £200 contribution) and who is covering the costs.
- What you will spend the money on
- Whether there will be a charge for people to attend.
- Any safety issues that you’ve needed to consider
- How you will keep this going
Once you have pitched, people who have been participating will be able to put forward questions for a max of 10 minutes. The event convenors will host this in order to keep within time.
After questions, each participant will vote for your pitch. There are 4 ways to vote.
- Agree to fully fund
- Partially fund
- Like the idea, but not ready
- Do not support the idea
Once all pitches have been heard, the totals agreed are added up and shared with the group. Another round may be necessary to explore how much to allocate to ideas that have been agreed to be partially funded.
If the total amounts to more than is in the pot (£1500) then the group decides together how to share it
The group does not need to allocate the full £1500 and can carry monies over to the next event.
Once agreed pitchers invoice Grass Roots of Wigan for the monies and commit to return to the next event, or provide information for the next event about how the money was used and what happened or was created as a consequence.
