We held a nature inspired community event in The Cherries Community Garden on Saturday 27th July whereby volunteers kindly built two raised beds for us to grow vegetables and plants. However, we now need around a ton of topsoil to fill the beds to enable planting. Does anyone know of any companies or organisations that might donate or provide top soil to community gardens?
Thanks
Catherine
Norman Prior, chairman of the Bamfurlong neighbourhood group, has contacts via SED Services Ltd, and does supply bagged compost to community groups affiliated to the In Bloom groups. It is supplied in 55l bags and is the recycled green waste, so probably not ideal for growing vegetables.
