Our story starts where another ends. And while we’re filled with sadness at the loss of an important pillar in the community, we are overjoyed to be able to carry the legacy of Umbrella Arts on and continue our work through our very own CIC The Happy Place. A female led, community interest company established in 2023.

Umbrella Arts started with two weekly workshops in 2018 and ran until Christmas of 2023. ending with ten weekly clubs for babies, to adults of retirement age. And none of this could’ve been possible, had it not been for the massive amount of time given from volunteers and tutors. Who supported, created and cared for every single person who walked through the doors.

We’re now in 2024 and have just moved into our new home at The Turnpike in Leigh. We are in talks with lots of different people about how to better our understanding of what the art community needs and wants in Leigh and its surrounding areas. We are learning every day, and have had a very fast paced start. But we’re super hopeful that things will continued to go smoothly, and we’re excited for what’s to come.
